FAQ
Common questions for users and organisers.
What is this site for?
It helps amateur radio operators join events, get smarter frequency suggestions, post live spots, and keep activity visible on a map.
How do I start as a user?
Create an account, activate it from your email, then join an event and set your operating location.
Do I need to add a callsign?
Your signup callsign is now added to your account automatically. You can manage additional callsigns in your dashboard.
How do frequency suggestions work?
The system uses event rules and nearby participant activity to reduce clashes. We also pull RSGB gateway data to check if a suggested frequency may clash with a gateway and warn you. Suggestions can be pending, approved, overridden, or rejected by organisers.
Can organisers control participants?
Yes. Organisers can review participants, manage bans, and moderate allocation decisions for their event scope.
How do I become an organiser for an event?
An organiser invites your callsign from Organiser Area - Team. On login, you get a dashboard invitation alert and can open Profile to accept or decline.
What is the Team page for organisers?
Team is the central place to invite organisers by callsign, remove members, and manage delegated team permissions. The master organiser cannot be removed and controls permission delegation.
Why are recommendation sections hidden for me?
If Operating Mode is set to Chaser, recommendation status and approved allocation sections are hidden. Switch to Net Controller mode to use frequency recommendation tools.
Where can organisers see live event alerts?
Organisers have an alert center in the account header for quick updates and a full alerts page with filters for frequency, joins, and location updates. You can clear visible alerts to keep the list manageable.
What does pending allocation mean?
Pending means a suggested frequency exists but has not been approved yet by an organiser.
How do I reset my password?
Use the forgot-password page. A secure reset link is sent by email. After reset, old sessions are invalidated.
